Dereham Organ & Keyboard Society

Dereham Organ and Keyboard Society has been established for over 20 years. We are a "players" and "listeners" club, with monthly meetings held throughout the year, usually on the second Friday of each month.

If you would like to attend a meeting, please check the dates online as sometimes changes do occur. Meetings are held at Yaxham Village Hall starting at 7.00pm and finishing at 10.00pm. The entrance charge is £3 on normal evenings, which includes free refreshments.

Evenings consist of members playing for the entertainment of everyone else. Many members bring their own keyboards on which to play, as they find it better to play on their own instruments. if you are unable to bring yours you can use someone else's, with help at hand to navigate your way through your performance if required.

Normally there are about four keyboards present of different types and usually a Wersi Sonic 500 organ on a regular basis. All are encouraged to play, but no pressure is applied to do this; if you want to just listen that's fine. All standards from beginner to advanced players are welcomed, with advice or help with any problems on hand (if we have the knowledge!) or hopefully someone can point you in the right direction.

Once a year a professional concert is held, usually in October, where a guest professional keyboard player comes to entertain us for the evening. This October we have the great pleasure of Brett Wales. All are welcome, but please check dates beforehand to avoid disappointment.
