PARISH COUNCIL NOTICE

“Between July 2017 and October 2017 we [Mazars] worked with the Council and Police to investigate some concerns about the officer the Council employed as Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) throughout 2016/17 and up until her dismissal in August 2017. We [Mazars] decided that the results of this work merit a Public Interest Report, a power set out in Schedule 7 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (The Act). On 23 November 2017 we [Mazars] sent you [the Council] a draft public interest report including an extract from the relevant legislation as an annex seeking comments within two weeks. We [Mazars] have received comments from the Council, former RFO and our regulators (Public Sector Audit Appointments Limited) and reflected on these comments in revising the report. We [Mazars] have now finalised the report and issued an audit report closing the 2016/17 audit.”
