Plans for a development of 25 homes on Norwich road were again rejected at the planning meeting on Tuesday 29th August. The development falls outside of the settlement boundary of Yaxham.

Yaxham’s neighbourhood plan offers clear guidance on the kinds of organic growth that the village would like to see, which was voted by an overwhelming 92% of the local population when put to a vote earlier this summer. Yaxham’s neighbourhood plan was the first to be approved in the district.

Neighbourhood plan working group chairman Maggie Oechsle commented, “This application was just too big, in the wrong place and poorly designed and Yaxham does not have the services to support it. We thank the officers and the committee for listening to the community and welcome this second refusal.”
