MacMillan Coffee Morning

For the past 12 years the MacMillan Coffee Morning has been run and organised by David Myhill and Joan Thurgill. They have decided it is time to hang up their cups and saucers, and pass the teaspoons on to a new group to organise.

Over those 12 years in excess of £10,000 has been raised and we would like to pay tribute to David and Joan for all their hard work. The format will remain very much the same, and we are delighted that existing volunteers are continuing to offer their support.

It is hoped to attract a wider age range from across the whole of the Parish. Cancer affects all age ranges from the very young to the very old and we want everyone to feel welcome as a valued member of our community. There will be a play area, with face-painting, for the littlest and lots of coffee and cake for mums, dads, aunties, uncles, grannies, grandads and friends.

To help everyone relax we are offering “taster” massage and reflexology sessions, and a chance to try Neal’s Yard and Topic natural beauty products Along with the existing stalls selling a variety of breads, pastries and cakes there will be jams and chutneys, books, hand-made cards and brica-brac.

There will be a stall selling children’s books, toys and clothes and firm favourites Sweeties-in-the-jar, Bagatelle and Shove Halfpenny will complete the mixture with the Raffle and Tombola having pride of place.

This year we have some fabulous prizes donated by local businesses: Alison’s Equestrian, Paddle Paws. The Honingham Buck, Café Verde, Kettle Crisps, and Yaxham Waters to name but a few. Please come and support us! The doors will open at 9.30am, so if you are on your way back from the school drop-off, pop in for a cuppa! If you want to bring prizes, contributions or donations these can be delivered to Yaxham House (by the Church). For enquiries, please call
